Files from many sources are stored on the website. The files may be uploaded directly to the website or attached to a forum post or blog. Files are stored with some metadata that describes the file's contents, file owner, version number, upload date, etc.
Files are classified by 3 types:
- Files uploaded from NXP sources and partners
- Files attached to user's forum posts, blogs, or issue reports
- Files available on external websites (links)
File tags
Files uploaded from NXP sources and partners include extra tags that identify the type of files it is - schematic, software, patch, user guide, etc. Files attached to user's forum posts don't have these extra tags. This extra tags allow the NXP and partner files to be filtered by specific file type on the "Files download" page. Files uploaded from NXP sources may also have additional tags that tie it to a specific term such as "lpc13xx", "uart", or "spi".
Files attached to posts
Files attached to forum posts, blog posts, or other user content do not have any tags that identify the file type or terms.
File search tips
To search all the files on the website, make sure the "file type" and "file category" selections are set to "ANY". If these are set to anything besides "ANY" or the "Post type" is selected as "NXP file", then only files that have been uploaded by NXP sources or partners will be searched.
External files
The "Download files" menu item shows only files that are available on the LPCware.com website. Some content refers to files that are available on external websites, such as nxp.com. The "External file links" menu item can be used to search for files referenced on LPCware.com that are located on other websites.
